Workers compensation represents one of the most successful
social compacts in existence.
The 100-year history of workers
compensation tells a story of
sometimes competing interests
working together to meet common goals: freeing workers from
the fear of having to pay for debilitating workplace injuries and
allowing business owners to
avoid burdensome litigation.
Almost since the industry was
founded, NCCI has been proud
to play an important role in the
evolution and success of the
workers compensation system.
During 2011, we join other industry stakeholders in celebrating
the 100-year anniversary of a
unique benefit that continues to
help keep America’s workplaces
safe and prosperous.
The workers compensation
system will continue to face and
overcome new challenges as the
modern workplace continues to
change and develop.
But given its successful 100-year
history, there is every reason to
believe that this highly successful
program will continue to benefit
workers, employers, and the
American economy for a long
and foreseeable future.
